I’m really looking forward to the new year. I know it’s not really looking like it’s going to be a blissful year in the economic sense, but yet, I’m still hopeful. I’ve had a pretty stressful year, myself, and I’m looking forward to a more calm, and more consistent life.
I do have some goals though. I’d really like to make some improvements to our house. We need a new roof, first and foremost, and we need to add a storage building. We have two small bathrooms that need the linoleum removed and new tile installed. We need to do some wallpaper removal and some painting and in the spring, we’re going to do bit of a landscaping renovation. We’d also like to do some kitchen work and add a couple of new cabinets.
As for personally, I’m going to jump into 2009 with a goal to become more healthy. Yes, weight loss is one aspect, but really it’s more of an overall health goal. I’d really like to take horseback riding lessons. Not just galloping along, but more of the sporting aspect of riding. I have a dear friend who is very talented rider. She does eventing and competes all over the country. I’d love for her to give me lessons, but if that doesn’t work out, I know she’d know where to send me.
We’re also hoping to make another trip up to Pennsylvania this year to see family. We had hoped to go down to Florida for my birthday and check out some Spring training, but I think the Pennsylvania trip will override that one. And we’re already thinking about what we’d like to do for our one year anniversary. It might be nice to go back to the cabin we rented for the wedding and actually relax there instead of being in an insane wedding haze.
I guess blogging more should be a goal.
And spending more time with my niece as well!
